WHAT TO EXPECT

Here are the main aspects in our worship...

At Stranmillis we are committed to Christ-centred and biblical worship which will allow people to praise Jesus. As we sing hymns, psalms and spiritual songs it allows the Word of God to dwell in us richly. Items of praise are chosen that will connect with the preaching. Corporate singing is at the heart of our praise and worship and the people at Stranmillis love to sing well. We use a mixture of traditional psalms, traditional hymns, modern hymns, songs and modern psalm settings. The accompaniment is with piano.

The Evangelical Presbyterian Church seeks, by God’s grace to be faithful to the Bible. Here, we believe, God has spoken. We confess the Bible to be divinely inspired and infallible. In an age when man has so much to say and thinks so highly of his own opinion, we believe that God is the One we need to hear.

Prayer is a great privilege. Can you think of any greater honour than to have an audience with the One who rules over ALL creation? We have been invited to talk with the One who put the stars in place. We are invited to seek counsel from the One who is Truth and Wisdom. We are invited to sit down with the One who knows all things.

CAN I BRING MY CHILDREN ALONG?

Yes please do, we'd love to see them with you...

At Stranmillis, we believe that children are not to be shunned away from worship, but rather to play a part of our worshipping family. God promises to be God to “you and your children after you.” He cares about our kids, after all, He Himself said in Matthew 19:14 “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”We also believe we have a responsibility to teach our children God’s Word, training them to be worshippers of Jesus. “We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord, and his might, and the wonders that he has done” (Psalm 78:4). This responsibility belongs especially to parents, but also to the church as a whole.

The children come to the front of the church (as long as they are happy too) after the song hymn where we have our children’s talk. This normally lasts about 10min and then afterwards, any pre-school children can go upstairs to our crèche facility.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask us.

DO YOU HAVE FACILITIES FOR PEOPLE WITH LEARNING DIFFICULTIES?

Yes we do and we also have a dedicated Sensory room...

People with profound and multiple learning disabilities, as well people with other physical disabilities such as spinal injuries, muscular dystrophy and multiple sclerosis often need extra equipment and space to allow them to use the toilets safely and comfortably. These needs are met by our Changing Places standard toilet. It features: full room coverage hoist system, height adjustable changing table, peninsular toilet, privacy screen, electric height adjustable washbasin and hand/ grab rails.

IS THERE A DRESS CODE?

No, we don't have a dress code, come in whatever you feel comfortable in...

On a typical Sunday you’ll see a healthy number of suits but also casual shirts with jeans! It is the Lord alone who sees and knows your heart, so come dressed in what you’re comfortable in and we’ll be glad to see you!

IS THERE A CHURCH CARPARK?

Unfortunately no. It can be tricky sometimes so it's best if you can come a little early!

Sometimes finding a car park space can be tricky so it’s best to try and be here a little earlier if you can. Pretoria Street, Stranmillis Gardens and Elaine Street are the main streets we use to park on, and also the main Stranmillis road. Please be aware of double yellow lines and one-way streets.
